Phoenix Chorale CEO Jen Rogers will step down from her position this month after almost 15 years working with the organization.

The North Central resident has served as administrative leader of the choral ensembles since 2015, when she moved to the CEO position while she had worked previously as the vice president of marketing and communications. Phoenix Chorale’s Board of Directors has implemented a plan to put an interim CEO in place ahead of conducting a national search for Rogers’ successor this year.

Lynne Traverse, Phoenix Chorale Board chairwoman, said that under Rogers’ leadership the Phoenix Chorale has become solvent, expanded to include full and part-time staff members, as well as developed the board into a fully-functioning professional entity, started successful recordings and boosted donor support. Rogers said when she first began working with the chorale she was “captivated by the high level of music making.” She said “every job has an expiration date” and she feels it is time to move on and allow others to move the choral ensembles forward.

The chorale appointed Christopher Gabbitas as artistic director in 2019 after a search process that Rogers and Search Committee co-chairwoman Rebecca McClain led.
