Take a spin around the dance floor and help a local business celebrate its one-year anniversary.

Wife and husband team Julianne and Paul Daniells this month celebrate the one-year anniversary of their DanceWise Dance Studio at the Cinema Park mall at 5555 N. Seventh St., Suite 112. The couple opened the studio in October 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, restricting the number of dancers they and their employees taught at one time in the studio and working hard to keep the facility safe and clean. Julianne and Paul taught students by recording them on video rather than holding a traditional dance showcase performance. Group dancers wore masks to protect themselves and others.

The dance studio has continued to grow, offering classes for beginners and advanced dancers and hosting a social dance every Saturday evening. The instructors teach various dance styles, including Latin, Zumba, BollyX, Argentine Tango and Lindy Hop swing.

The couple celebrated the one-year anniversary with a special event Oct. 1-2 that included group lessons, dance parties, a showcase – A Joyous & Elegant Affair – that featured students, dance professionals and dancers from around Arizona and a VIP reception.
