Takoda is a gentle, sweet and loving two-year-old German Shepherd looking for a “fur-ever” home.

This cute pup weighs just over 88 pounds and while he is a timid giant, it does not take long for him to open up and reveal his true personality. Takoda walks amazingly well on a leash and has the cutest ears you will ever see. He also loves playing fetch with a tennis ball and would love to show off his agility.

Takoda was taken to the Arizona Humane Society as an owner surrender last year when the other pet in the home was starting to not get along with him. This cute pup was adopted again and then recently returned to the Arizona Humane Society because the owner did not have enough time for him. Everyone at the organization who knows Takoda is bewildered at how long he has been at the shelter and knows he will be a great companion for a family seeking a big ‘ole cuddle bug. Takoda’s story is a great reminder of the many resources the Arizona Humane Society provides to help people and pets when needed.

Takoda’s animal number is 620076. All the Arizona Humane Society Adoption locations are closed temporarily but its Virtual Matchmaking Adoption by Appointment is available to help place pets, including lovable Takoda, with their families. Takoda might have been adopted by the time of your virtual appointment, but the Arizona Humane Society has many other cats, dogs and other companion animals who also need loving homes.
