Parents, grandparents and others who care for children can obtain tools for encouraging good behavior in free online workshops.

Early Childhood S.T.E.P. (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. starting on Saturday, Jan. 9 through Zoom, a video chat system. This is an eight-session series that focuses on positive adult-child relationships. Each workshop builds on what is discussed in the previous one.

Participants will learn how to encourage cooperative behaviors by offering a loving, consistent environment. Topics of the series include child and brain development; understanding young children’s behavior and building self-esteem. The workshops are geared towards those who have a close relationship with a child ages 3 to 5.
