There are many activities older adults can enjoy indoors to improve their health, socialize and learn new skills in senior centers operated by the city of Phoenix. These centers have reopened after having been closed for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They provide ongoing classes, events and services to address diverse interests and needs.

Yasmin Zavarce teaches chair yoga from 9 to 10 a.m. on Fridays each month at the Sunnyslope Senior Center at 802 E. Vogel Ave. The next one will take place Nov. 5. The Sunnyslope Senior Center also shows movies Fridays from noon to 1:30 p.m. Seniors can make crafts, including greeting cards, beaded jewelry and scrapbooks, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Sunnyslope Senior Center.
