November promises to be a busy month at the Arizona American Italian Club. Weekly activities feature team trivia nights, happy hour, bingo, karaoke night and an open mic night. A painting party class, “Booze and Brushes,” will be offered and live entertainment with music for listening and dancing is offered three evenings each week.
On Nov. 1, the club will kick off a holiday giving program sponsored by the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation. Boxes will be available throughout the club for toy donations from members and guests. New, unwrapped toys in their original packaging can be dropped off until Dec. 16. Target ages are from newborn to eight years old, but those up to age three are in particular need. No toys representing weapons are allowed.
A community event on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. will include a pet adoption event, a bake sale, and a holiday craft fair. The American Red Cross will be on hand for a blood drive by appointment. Donors will receive a $10 gift card and be entered for a chance to win $7,000. To make a blood donation appointment, call 800-733-2767.
In December, the club will host “Breakfast with Santa” on Saturday, Dec. 14. The time for this event will be announced on the website soon. In addition, area high school seniors looking for scholarship opportunities may want to check with their individual school about the club’s scholarship program for high schools in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Glendale.
