Kate Brophy McGee

At a Jan. 6 meeting of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, after swearing in the new members, the supervisors chose leadership for the next term. North Central resident Kate Brophy McGee, representing District 3, was elected as board vice chair.

Born into a ranching family and raised in southern Arizona, Brophy McGee is a third-generation Arizonan. She previously served in the Arizona Senate and Arizona House of Representatives. Prior to that, she served nearly a decade on the Washington Elementary School District board. According to her webpage, as a supervisor, her priorities include public safety, election integrity and economic development.
