The North Mountain Visitor Center, 12950 N. 7th St., invites residents to join them for a free Brown Bag Workshop presentation exploring summer gardening on Saturday, May 17, at 11:30 a.m. Attendees can bring their lunch and enjoy the free presentation.
“Beat the Heat with Indoor Container & Hydroponic Gardening” will be presented by a University of Arizona’s Cooperative Extension Master Gardener offering some tips and tricks to beat the summer heat. Everyone is welcome – whether you’re a beginner wishing to learn the easiest indoor plants and herbs to grow, or a veteran gardener looking for some fresh ideas and a new challenge.
Master gardeners are volunteers for the University of Arizona’s Cooperative Extension and provide outreach and education to communities throughout Maricopa County. Master gardener volunteers help bring the University’s science-based information on plants, gardens and landscapes to the public.
Donations made to Save Our Mountains Foundation at the event are appreciated, as they help run the North Mountain Visitor Center. For additional information, call 602-343-5125 or visit www.northmountainvisitorcenter.org.
