Residents who have gently used clothing, jewelry, furniture or other household items that they no longer need are encouraged to contact the Arizona Humane Society (AHS), who would love to “take them off your paws” and put the donation toward its life-saving programs that save sick, injured and abused pets.
Whether you’re cleaning out your closet or furnishing a new space, AHS welcomes your pre-loved items at all its thrift store locations.
In Phoenix, visit the Cave Creek Thrift Store, 13401 N. Cave Creek Road. And if the donations are on the larger side, AHS will come to you. The organization offers free donation pickup for large items or a minimum of six bags/boxes of donations in most Valley locations.
Those who donate are asked to ensure that items are in working condition – AHS cannot accept broken or overly worn goods. The thrift pickup drivers will inspect donations to ensure they meet the criteria.
Call Lisa Wagner at 602-870-8521, email her at thriftscheduling@azhumane.org or use the online form to schedule a pickup.
In addition, residents can donate a vehicle to the nonprofit’s award-winning Wheels for Wags program. AHS sells directly to the public, so donations have the greatest impact possible (and you don’t have to stress about any of the details).
