The Sunnyslope Community Center, located at 802 E. Vogel Ave., hosts events and classes for families throughout the month and offers a great way for the area’s younger residents to engage in youth sports and activities.

Classes starting in February include Hip Hop, ages 6-12 years, Feb. 24 to March 24; Volleyball Academy, ages 12-17 years, Feb. 20 to March 27; Indoor Soccer, ages 3-5 years, Feb. 24 to March 24; Basketball Academy, ages 9-12 years, Feb. 24 to March 24; Beginner Karate, ages 4-7 years, Feb. 19 to March 26; Beginner Karate, ages 8-12 years, Feb. 19 to March 26; Youth Self Defense Karate, ages 7-12 years, Feb. 18 to March 25; and USA Duathlon, ages 7-12 years, Feb. 18 to March 25.

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Pass allows residents to access amenities and programs citywide. The cost is $20 for Phoenix residents age 18 and older and $5 for younger Phoenix residents. While many programs are offered for free, additional costs may apply for some classes, including all of those mentioned here.
