Riding high off the success of their 2025, 7-inch vinyl release, “Race Ready Rockabilly,” North Central Phoenix’s own rockabilly band, Downhill Fast, is headed back to Rips Bar on Saturday, April 4, to offer fans a full album of Rockabilly hits. “Gears, Greasers and Gasoline” is described as a high-energy, foot-stomping good time from the second the (digital) needle drops on track one, “Hot Blooded Mama.”

“We are stoked to release a CD full of original material,” said Rodd Mas, vocal and rhythm guitarist for the band. “We have been playing songs like ‘Slippin’ In’ and ‘All Alone’ for years and have been wanting to make them available to our fans. ‘Gears, Greasers and Gasoline’ was the perfect opportunity to combine them with our newer songs like ‘Downtown’ and ‘Greaser’.”

Downhill Fast invited long-time Arizona swing, bop, and roots rock icons Kenny Love and the Rockerfellas, as well as DJ Tank and DJ Woof, to help celebrate the 14-song CD release on April 4. The ‘Gears, Greasers and Gasoline’ CD release party will be at Rips Bar, located at 3045 N. 16th St. The show starts at 2 p.m. with tickets only $10 at the door. The CD will be available for purchase for $10 in person. Downhill Fast’s CD and 7-inch record, along with shirts and stickers, also are available for purchase at the show and through the band’s website, www.downhillfast.net.
