In October, Local First Arizona announced a partnership with O.H.S.O., the well-established local craft brewery, distillery and restaurant group, to create a limited-edition beer to showcase delicious local ingredients and hometown pride – the Sonoran Sipper.
The cream ale with hibiscus lime zest features a variety of locally sourced ingredients, including malted barley from Sossaman Farms in Queen Creek, a 100-year-old family farm that’s evolving into the 21st century by opening Homestead Malting. The magenta hibiscus is sourced from Shamba AZ, an urban farm in North Phoenix, with sourcing made possible by Sun Produce Cooperative, a local food aggregator and distributor working to increase access to healthy local food, particularly for underserved children and adults, while growing the capacity and viability of smaller-acreage Arizona farms.
The Sonoran Sipper debuted Oct. 25 at all O.H.S.O locations and will be available at the 2025 Arizona Fall Fest, taking place Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Margaret T. Hance Park in Downtown Phoenix. The joint beer is set to raise money for Local First Arizona through the “Give Back” campaign. One hundred percent of every Sonoran Sipper sold at Arizona Fall Fest will be donated to the organization.
O.H.S.O., which stands for Outrageous Homebrewer’s Social Outpost, boasts 10 locations with two more on the way. Learn more at www.ohsobrewery.com or www.localfirstaz.com/fall-fest.
