Caring for a loved one with diminishing mental and physical capacities can be an emotional challenge, and sometimes talking with others in the same situation can help relieve the stress and anxiety felt by the caregiver.

That’s why Duet offers several free support groups each month for caregivers, at various locations around the Valley. Upcoming support group meeting in January include:

  • Caregivers Support Group, 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 7 & 21, at the Devonshire Senior Center, 2802 E. Devonshire Ave.
  • Caregivers Support Group, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Shadow Mountain Senior Center, 3546 E. Sweetwater Ave.
  • Alzheimers Caregiver Support Group, 12:30-2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Duet offices, 555 W. Glendale Ave.
  • Parkinsons Caregiver Support Group, 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Duet offices, 555 W. Glendale Ave.

Duet is a nonprofit, interfaith organization that promotes health and well-being through a broad range of services to homebound adults, caregivers, faith communities and grandparents raising grandchildren. Duet’s free-of-charge services are available in the greater Phoenix area. For more information, go to www.duetaz.org or call 602-274-5022.
