Join the Phoenix Public Library for the 23rd-annual Summer Solstice Celebration, 1-3:30 p.m. Friday, June 21 at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave.

Herald the first day of summer and the longest day of the year while marveling at the architectural magic of Burton Barr Central Library with its architect, Will Bruder. Watch from the unique vantage point of the Great Reading Room as man-made engineering collaborates with the sun, the most important source of energy for life on Earth, to reveal the moment of solstice.

Enjoy live music, then drop by the Rare Book Room to print a solstice-themed keepsake on the library’s authentic 125-year-old printing press. First come, first served.
