Stephanie Fleischman Cherny joined the law firm of Mitchell Stein Carey PC, 1440 E. Missouri Ave., #100, as a partner at the beginning of January. She was an attorney at Skadden, and has represented some of the largest companies and most prominent individuals in the country in a wide variety of white-collar prosecutions and government and internal investigations.

Cherny has established a reputation as an authority on matters under the jurisdiction of the Departments of Justice and Commerce and the Securities and Exchange Commission, including investigations involving anti-corruption issues, sanctions and export control issues. She performs worldwide risk assessments and advises clients on the design and implementation of legal and ethical compliance programs.

Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Morrissey recently joined the firm, as well. Morrissey is a skilled trial lawyer with deep experience in jury trials, from white collar, fraud, and tax cases to first-degree murders. He served as chief of the National Security Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona. In addition, Morrissey is a former chief of the Appellate Section for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and has argued more than 30 appeals before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
