In last month’s story, “Child drownings can be prevented,” it incorrectly stated that, “most child drownings happen to children from ages birth to 5 during large pool parties where there are lots of adults around.” According to Lindel Millar of the Glendale Fire Department, the age range for a high percentage child drownings is 18 months to 5 years, and while pool parties can pose a danger, saying that “most child drownings” in the summer happen at these events is inaccurate. We apologize for the error.
