Mark your calendars for the 13th Annual National Free Comic Book Day Celebration and Party at All About Books and Comics on Saturday, May 3.

All About Books and Comics, 5060 N. Central Ave., has been in business in uptown Phoenix since 1973 and has a rich history as the oldest comic book store in the Valley, with more than 4,000 square feet devoted to comics from 1940 to the present.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on National Free Comic Book Day, the store with be giving away thousands of free comics as well as hosting free photos with live superheroes, including Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Joker, Green Lantern, Supergirl, Batgirl and others. Children also will enjoy free superhero face painting from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Discounts will be given on all merchandise with the purchase of a $5 raffle ticket. All of the raffle ticket proceeds will be donated to Make-A-Wish Arizona. The raffle prize is a superhero gift basket valued at more than $300.
