Regularly attendees at the twice-yearly Sunnyslope Art Walk will take note of some new features this fall, including a wine/beer garden and entertainment from dance groups, including belly dancers. The art walk is set for 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.

The Sunnyslope community in North Central Phoenix has long been the home and workplace of a wide range of artists, architects and other creative individuals. The Sunnyslope Village Alliance presents the Sunnyslope Art Walk as a signature community event.

More than 150 local and Valley artists and musicians will team up with Sunnyslope-area shop owners and restaurateurs to entice and entertain during this free walkable event. The art walk begins at Central and Dunlap avenues, and proceeds south along the roadway until the intersection of Central and Alice avenues.

The event brings together a full range of artistic media: oil on canvas paintings and pen-and-ink sketches, as well as examples of woodwork, metalwork, weaving, sculpting, ceramics, and even the occasional culinary creation.

The Sunnyslope Art Walk for the first time will feature wine and beer gardens, presented by Sunnyslope’s own North Mountain Brewery along with Timo Wine Bar, and located adjacent to Accurate Signs and Engraving just south of Townley Avenue.
