Prepare your palettes—it’s going to be a spicy September! The 4th Annual Chile Pepper Festival returns to downtown Phoenix 4-11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Phoenix Public Market, 721 N. Central Ave.

Taste an eclectic mix of the finest chile pepper cuisine the city has to offer from more than 25 local restaurants and chefs, and wash it down with craft beer from Deschutes Brewery and sweet and spicy margaritas from 3 Amigos Tequila. Visitors also will enjoy live music with local bands and performance groups, pick up some hot moves with local salsa dancers, and vote for the best dish in the Chile Pepper Challenge.

Bags of roasted chiles, chile pepper wreathes and more will be available for purchase. There also will be cooking demonstrations and a Kids Zone with craft activities.

Admission is free, however, all tastings will cost you a ticket or token—generally, $2 for food and $5 for a beer or margarita. Save a little money and buy your tasting and drink tickets in advance online at www.chilepepperfest.com. Follow Chile Pepper Festival on Facebook.
