The hills will come alive Oct. 8-9 when the Save Our Mountains Foundation (SOMF) presents the Fourth Annual Music in the Mountains Acoustic Folk Music Festival, held at the North Mountain Visitor Center, 12950 N. 7th St.

More than 30 of the Valley’s finest acoustic entertainers will donate their talents to raise money to benefit the Save Our Mountains Foundation’s mission of preserving and protecting the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. The monies raised during this year’s event will be used for land acquisition to preserve more open spaces and make them available for recreational purposes as well as for wildlife habitat.

Entertainment begins at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and will take place in the Visitor Center Lobby, the bird blind and in the patio and open stage. Each day there will be bidding on a Silent Auction and a drawing will be in the Visitor Center at 4 and 7 p.m. on Saturday then again at 4 and 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Burgers Amore (Saturday), North Mountain Brewing Company (Sunday) along with chips and salsa from Chili’s.

There is no admission fee. Tickets are available for the Silent Auction and drawings. All donations to the Save Our Mountains Foundation, a nonprofit organization, are tax deductible. For more information, visit www.northmountainvisitorcenter.org or call 602-343-5125.
