Come here stories and songs about the great state of Arizona during a special concert by Dolan Ellis, 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16 at the North Mountain Visitor Center, 12950 N. 7th St.

Ellis has served as Arizona’s Official State Balladeer for the past 50 years. Traveling more than a million Arizona miles in his specially equipped jeeps, Ellis has explored every corner of Arizona. He has written hundreds of songs about Arizona people, places, and things and has won awards for his Arizona photography.

Ellis is an original member of the Grammy Award-winning 1960s folk group, The New Christy Minstrels. After touring with the group for 50 years, he recently retired in 2015. Along with his Grammy Award, he has been inducted into the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame.

Tickets to this special concert are $20 and can be purchased online through Jan. 14 at www.saveourmountains.org, in advance at the NMVC Gift Shoppe, or at the door (if available).
