HonorHealth invites residents to show their own hearts some love this month with some free events that are heart-focused. All events take place in the Cowden Center, on the campus of the John C. Lincoln Medical Center, at 9202 N. 2nd St.

First up is “Heart Strong: The Benefits of Cardiac Rehab,” 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3. Learn what is cardiac rehabilitation and how it benefits your heart. HonorHealth exercise physiologist Melissa Koistinen will discuss the importance of exercise on heart health and focus on cardiovascular exercise.

Next, the Mended Hearts Support Group returns 6:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4. The evening offers support and education for individuals with heart conditions including heart failure, heart attacks, atrial fibrillation, stents and open heart surgery.

Then on Feb. 16, “Be Heart Smart: Ask a Cardiologist,” from 6-7 p.m. Learn the best strategies to keep your heart healthy as a HonorHealth cardiologist discusses common heart health issues, heart health myths, lifestyle changes, medication options and healthy living habits.
