The closure of Central Phoenix’s only Tuesday Morning store was bad news for some bargain shoppers—but it was good news for Barry’s True Value Hardware, which moved into the vacated space at the southwest corner of 12th Street and Northern Avenue.
Barry’s had been located next door, but took advantage of the more than 2,000 additional square feet available just steps away. “It allows us to spread out a little bit and add new items that we did not have room for previously,” explains Barry McKay, owner of Barry’s True Value Hardware.
Because of its move, the store also gained a second entrance, with additional parking on the south side of the building to help relieve the afternoon parking congestion in the front of the store. There also is an expanded outside area that McKay says will be used for a future garden center and for larger building materials.
