In Arizona, one in six people struggles with food insecurity, according to statistics from 2017. This is one of the reasons Ezras Cholim of Phoenix in February launched the Metamim Food Pantry, which provides kosher food boxes to Jewish families in need, Monday through Friday at 6516 N. 7th St., Ste. 100.

There is a food donation box located at the Safeway grocery store at 7th Street and Glendale Avenue. Food currently is being collected to help these families in need celebrate the upcoming High Holidays. While foods labeled “kosher” are preferred, all food donations are welcome and will be used.
