Scoopwell’s Dough Bar opened last month in the Uptown Plaza, 100 W. Camelback Road, across the courtyard from Lou Malnati’s and next door to Elly’s Brunch & Café.

The dough, which can be baked to make actual cookies (if you can wait that long), is made from pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour so that it can be safely eaten raw. There are various flavors, including a gluten-free lemon poppyseed and vegan gingersnap, as well as traditional favorites like chocolate chip and peanut butter. There also are basic brownie and “just dough” batters to customize to your liking, with several additional mix-ins to choose from (at .50 cents per extra topping).

You can enjoy the scoops is a paper bowl, or take your taste experience to the next level in a flavored cone. And of course, if you want to bypass the raw and go straight to the cookies, baked cookies also will be available for purchase.

Scoopwell’s is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 602-296-5146 or visit www.scoopwells.com.
