Members of the Beatitudes Campus Community Outreach Committee honored 18 students from Washington High School during a luncheon event held in April (submitted photo).

Several students from Washington High recently were recognized at the Beatitudes Student of the Month Luncheon. Throughout the 2018-19 school year, the Beatitudes Campus Community Outreach Committee recognized two students every month as “Students of the Month.” These students exemplified outstanding scholarship, leadership and community spirit.

All 18 students were then honored for their outstanding achievements at the luncheon, held on the retirement center campus at 1610 W. Glendale Ave. In addition, six of the students were awarded with $500 scholarships.

These scholarships were established by the committee to inspire and empower students to pursue education beyond high school and to help the students accomplish their educational goals.

In 1965, Beatitudes Campus began as a unique kind of retirement community, combining senior living, healthcare and a holistic approach to wellness. The campus has expanded to meet the changing preferences of seniors and their families by adding new services, amenities and residential choices—including many active clubs and special interest groups such as the Community Outreach Committee.
