The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department will host a Senior Safety Event 9-11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at the Devonshire Senior Center, 2802 E. Devonshire.

The Phoenix Fire and Police Departments, the Arizona Attorney General’s office, Adult Protective Services, CareMore Health Care and Duet are among the organizations that will be on hand to offer seniors tips to keep themselves, their homes and their property safe and protected.

Seniors can learn about home safety, protection and accessibility; fire safety; fraud and scam prevention; and medical emergency preparedness. Participants also can bring up to five boxes of paper documents for free shredding.

The event is free and no registration is required. Sponsor CareMore will provide free refreshments. For more information, call 602-256-3130.
