Friends of Phoenix Public Art recently launched a long-term community digital and social media campaign, LOVE IT! Phoenix Public Art. The campaign aims to boost awareness and generate citizens’ pride and appreciation of the city’s public art pieces. The campaign also will raise money to help the city preserve and maintain its public assets. There also will be an e-commerce store featuring fashion items.

Phoenix displays a nationally and internationally recognized Municipal Art Collection, which features more than 1,200 pieces of art displayed in city buildings and the Gallery @ City Hall. It also includes nearly 200 public art creations embedded in neighborhoods and city buildings around Phoenix. Public art is visible around North Central including a large sculpture, a pathway and artistic fence in a revamped area near an inactive well on the southeast corner of 6th Street and Butler Drive installed last year. Another art project, located at the southwest corner of 19th Avenue and Maryland Avenue, called “In Between,” was composed by coLAB studio artists, with two vertical shade panels made from flower and galaxy images, at a bus shelter.
