A North Central choreographer and dancer will be featured on the premiere of “AZ Creates,” a new web series that highlights creative people in the state.

Pamela Cannedy, a long-time musical theater choreographer who owned Cannedy Dance Centre for the Performing Arts with her husband, Stepan Oleksyn, for 30 years, will be the first guest on the show hosted by Valley resident Laurie Fagen. The show will make its debut on YouTube at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10. Cannedy now choreographs shows for the Prescott Center for the Arts and Yavapai College while the dance studio has new owners and a new name, AZ Dance District.

Fagen started the program to showcase artists, musicians, filmmakers, actors and other artistic people in Arizona. She said creative professionals have been struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced shows and galleries to close.
