The Area Agency on Aging is responding to an unprecedented number of requests for help from senior citizens in Maricopa County.

It has received more than 15,500 calls to the 24-hour Senior Help Line, an information and referral hotline, since March 18. That is more than three times the number of calls received the previous month. The agency has served more than 1,850 new clients during this time period.

The agency provides information about how to obtain home-delivered meals, housing, long-term care, transportation, caregiver support, respite and support groups, among other resources and services. The Senior Help Line is 602-264-HELP (4357).
