If you are a parent or another adult raising a child who has been traumatized in the past, a free online class can help you learn how to help your little one.

Southwest Human Development offers a class called Trauma-Informed Care: Understanding the Impact of Trauma on Children (0-5) from 9 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of every month and from 6 to 9 p.m. the third Thursday of each month. The training is online due to the COVID-19 pandemic rather than in person. The next class will be held April 10.

Adults raising children learn the importance of relationships, as well as how trauma affects the feelings and behaviors of young children and how caregivers can assist them in this class.

Registration is required and is limited. It closes 48 hours before each class. To register for the class, visit swhd.org/training/traumatraining.
