Children can get a jump-start on saving money for college in the AZ529 (Arizona’s Education Savings Plan) second annual essay-writing contest.

All fifth-graders in Arizona can enter the competition, answering the question “What is your dream job and how do you plan on achieving it in the future?” in their essays. The deadline for entries is May 29. Winners will each receive $529 towards a new or existing AZ529 Education Savings Plan account. One winner will be chosen from each of the state’s 15 counties, with additional prizes given to children in Maricopa and Pima counties, due to their higher populations. Altogether $10,580 will be distributed to 20 Arizona students.
