On Aug. 23, the Phoenix Indian Center hosted a special grand opening celebration at its new central Phoenix office location at 4041 N. Central Ave.

The event included remarks from Phoenix Indian Center CEO, Jolyana Begay-Kroupa, in addition to each of the Center’s program managers. Diandra Benally, Phoenix Indian Center board president and general counsel for Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, and Jason Chavez, director of Tribal Affairs for the Office of Governor Katie Hobbs, offered remarks acknowledging the impact of the Center’s 77 years of work supporting the Native community.

Attendees also had the opportunity to tour the new, larger two-story facility featuring conference rooms, classrooms on the first floor, staff offices on the second and additional meeting and rental spaces. Now located at the southeast corner of Indian School Road and Central Avenue, the Center kept its close proximity to Valley Metro rail and bus lines, helping to continue supporting its growing base of customers, staff, and the wider community for events and outreach. The Center is also next to Native Health Phoenix, fostering unique community engagement and service opportunities.

The center serves over 9,500 customers annually with intensive workforce development, prevention services, cultural enrichment, youth programming and community engagement activities for adults and youth. Related outreach touches more than 35,000 urban American Indian children and their families annually. Learn more at www.phxindcenter.org.
