In September, Councilmember Laura Pastor attended the Neighborhood Synergy Conference, where community leaders came together to be recognized and to exchange ideas and engage in meaningful discussions on how to strengthen neighborhoods (photo courtesy of City of Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department).

Council District 4, in conjunction with VFW Post 720, will host a Veterans Resource Stand Down event on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During the resource fair event, local veterans can connect with essential services that support their health, housing, employment and overall well-being. They can also meet fellow veterans in a relaxed, family-friendly environment. There will be free health screenings from CVS Health and CPLC Luces, as well as activities for children.

VFW Post 720 is located at 4853 E. Thomas Road. To RSVP, visit www.eventbrite.com/e/pastors-veteran-resource-stand-down-tickets-1804137597119. Contact D4 Councilmember Laura Pastor’s office at 602-262-7447 or council.district.4@phoenix.gov.
