At North Central News, we love our pets, and we know many of you do, too. So, this month, we are launching a new feature that shines the spotlight on all the beloved furry, feathered or scaly friends that enrich our lives. If you think that your pet is the cat’s meow, send us a high-resolution photo of your pet and tell us a story (200 words or less) about how they came into your life, their favorite thing to do, how they make your life more complete, etc., and we may feature your pet tale in North Central News.

To kick things off, let us introduce you to Sally. She came into our editor’s life in 2014 when she was not even a year old. A rescue from Arizona Humane Society (AHS), Sally quickly had the run of the house. She was even in charge of the 10-year-old Great Dane/German Shepherd mix, Max, also an AHS rescue. Fast-forward 10-plus years and Max has passed on, but Sally is still “top dog” in a house with two other rescue felines. When she is not perched high atop her cat tree watching the world go by, she likes to spend quality time with her humans, even when they have their nose stuck in a book.

Now it’s your turn! Email editor@northcentralnews.net (subject: Pet Tales) and tell us about your family pet. Each month, the staff pick for best photo and story will be included in our next issue. The submission deadline is the 13th of the month.
