Patrons of all ages will find programs and classes at all of the Phoenix Public Library locations; however, the calendar heading into fall offers plenty of opportunities just for adults looking for creative, crafty entertainment.
Century Library, located at 1750 E. Highland Ave., will host Creativity Corner, Saturday, Aug. 16, from 2-3:30 p.m. The event is for reluctant or inexperienced crafters who are looking for new projects who do not know where to begin. Also offered is the Century Book Club, a monthly meeting where readers and library staff come together to discuss each month’s selected title. The event is held the last Tuesday of each month – Aug. 26, this month.
Beginning Aug. 2, Cholla Library, 10050 Metro Parkway E., will offer The Accidental Crafter, held 9:30-11 a.m. Similar to Creativity Corner, this program is geared toward adults who are somewhat new to crafting. Acacia Library, 750 E. Townley Ave., also offers the program (Aug. 16 this month), as well as a Mystery Book Club (Aug. 2) and Front Porch Book Club (Aug. 20).
Finally, at Yucca Library, at 5648 N. 15th Ave., residents are invited to explore different craft projects geared toward adults during Adult Crafternoon. Each event will have a different project to create and enjoy. Upcoming events include Saturday, Aug. 9, Sept. 6 and Nov. 15. All of the events will be held from 2-3:30 p.m.
