The Arizona State Poetry Society announced that it is accepting submissions for its 2026 Annual Youth Contest beginning Jan. 15. The deadline for submissions is April 1.
Open to all Arizona students, grades one through 12, there is no entry fee for the contest. Poems can be on any topic with a limit of three submissions per person. Poems written in other than English must include an English translation.
Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place for winning poems in grade brackets: Grades 1-4, Grades 5-8 and Grades 9-12.
The winning poems will appear in “Sandcutters 2026,” an anthology of Arizona State Poetry Society. Winners will be notified in May 2026 and will receive a complimentary copy of “Sandcutters” at the end of the year.
