The city of Phoenix has opened 12 of its pools this season: Cortez, Deer Valley, El Prado, Encanto, Falcon, Maryvale, Paradise Valley, Pecos, Perry, Starlight, Sunnyslope and University. Pools will run on the normal seasonal schedule and be open six days a week through Aug. 1 (they are closed on Fridays). The pools also will be open Saturdays and Sundays only from Aug. 7 to Sept. 6.

Capacity at the city’s pools has been changed this summer and swimmers are required to reserve times to participate in open swim sessions. Open swim is available in three 90-minute time blocks every day and reservations can be taken up to three days in advance every Monday and Thursday throughout the season. Someone at least 16 years old must accompany any youths during open swim times. Anyone age 17 and younger can swim free of charge during open swim at all pools.

The city pools will offer swim lessons free of charge this summer, which are available to those age 3 to 12. Lessons will be delivered in four sessions: from June 7 to 17; from June 21 to July 1, from July 5 to 15 and from July 19 to 29. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of classes and students per class has been decreased. There will not be any adult swim lessons, water aerobics, water basketball league, as well as swim and dive teams this summer.
