Roosevelt Row’s neighborhood restaurant and craft cocktail lounge, Industry Standard, announced in late June the addition of award-winning chef Pierce Azlin as its newest partner. A Phoenix native with nearly two decades of restaurant experience, Azlin brings a rich culinary background and a strong local following to the team, the owners said. He is best known for his bold, globally inspired cuisine and deep roots in the Valley’s culinary scene.

Azlin has built his career working with some of Arizona’s most respected hospitality groups, including Fox Restaurant Concepts, Upward Projects and The Maggiore Group. In 2024, he opened his own restaurant, Azlin at The Clarendon Hotel and Spa, which he successfully operated for a year and a half before it closed in early June due to a change in hotel ownership. His experience spans everything from menu development to high-volume kitchen operations, combining creativity with hands-on leadership.

“I am so excited to be joining the Industry Standard team,” said Azlin. “I’m beyond inspired to create dishes and share my food with everyone, some classics that people know me for from Azlin, but also a lot of new things. We’ll be hitting the ground running immediately with menu revisions and a full menu rollout likely by mid-summer. The new direction will focus on a more culturally diverse menu, featuring both shareable plates and traditional entrees.”

Founded by longtime hospitality professionals Mike Cheathem, Mike Bodow and Jordan Hudgens, Industry Standard opened in January 2025. The concept blends “elevated yet approachable food, craft cocktails and an energetic community atmosphere,” the owners said, adding that it is known for its American-global fusion, which is sure to be elevated by the addition of Azlin.

The restaurant plans to further deepen its community ties, from chef and bar collaborations with other standout restaurants to simply offering quality late-night food for everyone, whether you’re in the industry or not.

The restaurant is open seven days a week starting at 5 p.m., with a full menu available late into the night. Guests can enjoy weekday happy hour specials, Wine Wednesdays, and soon, a newly launched Industry Night, along with other culinary-focused events. More programming and seasonal updates are set to roll out throughout the summer.
