The Honoring America’s Veterans, Veterans Day Parade first stepped off in Phoenix in 1997. The event recognizes the contributions of United States veterans, and its goal is to build a patriotic Phoenix community spirit that recognizes the sacrifices veterans make for the country.

This year’s event will once again be held on Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m., parade participants will head south on Central Avenue from Montebello Drive to Camelback Road, turning east on Camelback Road to 7th Street, then turning south on 7th Street. The parade ends at Indian School Road.

Residents are invited to line the streets of the parade route and cheer the veterans, nonprofit organizations, businesses, high school marching bands and others as they walk, roll or march through North Central. Those who live in or are traveling in the area should also be aware of street closures that will be in place beginning at 7:30 a.m. the morning of the parade.
