The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is advising Phoenix area drivers to plan for the following closure for work on the State Route 51 pavement rehabilitation project between Interstate 10 (Papago Freeway) and Shea Boulevard: 
- Southbound SR 51 will be CLOSED between Indian School Road and I-10 (at the “Mini-Stack Interchange”) from 9 p.m. Friday, April 10, to 5 a.m. Monday, April 13. The following ramps also will be closed:
- The westbound I-10 HOV ramp to northbound SR 51
- The southbound SR 51 on-ramps at Glendale Avenue, Bethany Home Road and Highland Avenue
I-10 Detour: Drivers may consider taking westbound Indian School Road to southbound Seventh Street to access east- or westbound I-10.
Loop 202 Detour: Drivers may consider taking eastbound Indian School Road to southbound 24th Street to access eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway).
Overnight restrictions:
- Southbound SR 51 will be narrowed to one or two lanes between 32nd Street and Glendale Avenue nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Tuesday, April 14, and ending Friday morning, April 17.
Upcoming closures:
- Northbound SR 51 is scheduled to be CLOSED between I-10 and Colter Street (north of Camelback Road) from 9 p.m. Friday, April 17, to 5 a.m. Monday, April 20.
ADOT advises drivers to use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
