Hosted by Metrocenter mall and organized by nonprofit group Fairy Godmothers of AZ, the second-annual Metrocenter Prom Fair is set for the weekends of Feb. 15-16 and Feb. 22-23.

Prom Fair makes it affordable for high school junior and senior girls to dress for their prom, regardless of financial hardship. Students can purchase a new or gently used prom gown for $10, and accessories for $2 to $6.

No appointment is necessary, but selection and appointments are first come, first served. Open to high school junior and senior girls only with a valid student ID or report card. After signing into the event, students are assigned a “personal shopper” to assist with the selection of a gown, and accessories. All purchases are cash only.

Hours of the event are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Metrocenter is located at 9617 N. Metro Parkway West. Enter the mall at the South Entrance.

Volunteers also are needed to serve as personal shoppers and on-site seamstresses. Visit www.mypromdress.org to register; various time slots are available. Must be 19 years or older to volunteer.
