North Central Phoenix native Ilan Slovin has been named a recipient of the 2013 Elijah Watt Sells award. The award is given out each year by the American Institute of CPAs to recognize candidates who obtained a cumulative score above 95.5 across all 4 sections of the CPA examination on the first attempt.

There were 94,154 candidates who sat for the examination in 2013 with only 55 meeting the criteria for the award. The Elijah Watt Sells Award program was established by the AICPA in 1923 to recognize outstanding performance on the CPA Examination.

Slovin went to Sunnyslope High School before moving on to the University of Arizona, where he graduated with majors in Accounting and Finance and a minor in Spanish. Upon graduating from the U of A, he was recognized as the top accounting student in his graduating class. He is currently working for Deloitte in Los Angeles.
His parents, Rosalyn and Martin Slovin, live in North Central Phoenix.
