The perfect day for Jinx needs only two ingredients: a ball and someone to throw it. The agile Border Collie is a fetching machine and would benefit from an owner with a good throwing arm. He will leap in the air to catch a Frisbee and retrieve a stuffed toy or wayward tennis ball with great enthusiasm.

Location doesn’t matter; he will fetch in the living room, down the hallway or catch the ball on a small porch, but he performs at his best when he’s set free in a spacious yard. Loaded with energy, he’d be happy to join you for a morning jog, go swimming in the afternoon and tackle a hike later that day.

Given up because his owners were getting divorced, this smart, inquisitive and eager-to-please 12-year-old family dog is well trained and an obedient canine. Even after a day of activity, this active dreamer is still running in his sleep.

Bring the family to the Arizona Humane Society’s Sunnyslope Campus located at 9226 N. 13th Ave. to meet Jinx. His adoption fee is $110. For more information, call 602-997-7585 and ask for animal ID number A517271. Jinx may have been adopted by the time you visit the shelter but you can see all the pets in need of a home by visiting www.azhumane.org.
