Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Phoenix President and CEO Richard Kasper will speak on the foundation’s activities and its recent acquisition of the Jewish News as part of the Speakers Series, 7 p.m.  Friday, Dec. 16 at Beth Ami Temple, located inside Palo Cristi Church at 3535 E. Lincoln Drive.

The JCF is the largest resource for Jewish philanthropy in the Greater Phoenix area. The transfer of ownership of the Jewish News from Jaime Stern to the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Phoenix in July 2016 is the first time that an independent Jewish community foundation has owned a Jewish newspaper.

Kasper joined the Jewish Community Foundation in 2013, bringing more than 20 years of experience in law, nonprofit governance, community building, and philanthropy to his role as President and CEO. He most recently served as a partner with Ryan Rapp & Underwood PLC, where he provided legal counsel for many secular and Jewish nonprofit organizations, individuals, and publicly traded or closely held companies, and worked as the Arizona regional director for the Anti-Defamation League.

The public is encouraged to attend this informative evening of discussion. A brief Shabbat service will be held before Kasper leads a question-and-answer session with the audience. Light refreshments will follow. Free and open to the public, but reservations are required. Call 602-956-0805 or e-mail bethamitemple@hotmail.com.
