Two North Central teens recently received $2,000 each from the Scholarships for Military Children Program.

Evan Pittman, a 2017 graduate of Phoenix Country Day School, now attends Brown University. A record-breaking powerlifter and an accomplished violinist, Pittman also was named the City of Phoenix Outstanding Young Man of the Year for 2017.

Emma Jensen, a 2018 graduate from Sunnyslope High School, will attend the University of Virginia this fall. She was active in the SHS Student Council and National Honor Society, and was a member of the school’s badminton team.

The Scholarships for Military Children Program awards funds to graduating high school seniors or college-enrolled students who are the sons or daughters of members of the U.S. Armed Forces including active duty, retired, guard/reserves, etc.
