Hospice of the Valley is offering several courses in Mindfulness this fall to improve community health. Some are tailored to specific issues, such as caregiver stress and depression and anxiety.

Scientific studies show mindfulness practices can change the way people think, work and play by opening new pathways in the brain. Learn how to focus on the present and live in the moment.

Classes range from a one-day workshop to weekly sessions and are open to the community. Fees vary. Many take place at the Gardiner Home Education Center, 1522 W. Myrtle Ave. For information and class registration, visit www.hov.org/mindfulness or call 602-636-5334.
