There is good news for homeless dogs in the state.
Almost There Foster Care raised $103,000 at its third annual Imagine: A Black and White Affair at the Wrigley Mansion last month. The money will go to Almost There Foster Care and Community Canine Project to aid homeless dogs. Geri Hormel, founder and executive director of Almost There Foster Care, a non-profit organization, chaired this year’s event with Annie Barlow and Kim French. Barlow is the Almost There Foster Care social media and special events director and also on the board of Almost There Foster Care. French is the events and fundraising volunteer for Community Canine Project (CCP).
The gala included hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and champagne, as well as black and white portraits, live music, puppies, a raffle, silent auction, wine pull and mystery gift station.
Founded in 2013, Almost There Foster Care provides care and a comfortable space to homeless large-breed pregnant dogs and their pups who need time and space to grow and become socialized as they search for their forever homes. To learn more, visit atfcaz.org.
Community Canine Project was founded in 2018 and is a volunteer-run organization created as a way for individuals to come together to provide support to municipal animal shelters and comfort to the dogs living in the shelters. For more information, visit communitycanineproject.org.
