Area Agency on Aging offers several free classes for mature adults who want to get in shape, stay healthy and manage chronic pain.

The organization holds ongoing Geri-Fit classes to help increase muscular strength, improve coordination and balance, boost motor skills, decrease arthritic conditions and manage chronic disease. These classes are held from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays at Sunnyslope Senior Center at 802 E. Vogel Ave. Classes also will start Jan. 7 at Devonshire Senior Center, 2802 E. Devonshire Ave., from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes are for people age 60 years and older.

Area Agency on Aging also will hold a Pain Self-Management Workshop from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Jan. 8 to Feb. 12 at Devonshire Senior Center. Learn how to manage chronic pain with techniques that address poor sleep, appropriate medication use, exercise and new treatments.
