Mae Mae is so cute that she was given two first names.
This sweet two-year-old American pit bull terrier mix is one of hundreds of pets given a second chance every year through the Arizona Humane Society’s Project Reachout Program. This lifesaving program provides sweet pets like her a change of scenery and another chance at finding their “fur-ever” homes when other shelters are overrun and the Arizona Humane Society has space to house them.
A transfer from the Arizona Humane Society’s partners at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control in February, Mae Mae is one of the shelter’s longest residents, as of press time, but she knows there is a special family that will fall in love with her big brown eyes and beautiful freckles.
Once Mae Mae is comfortable, she shows just how gentle and sweet she is with all the people she meets. She also is a huge fan of going on hikes, getting yummy Puppuccinos and is very treat motivated when learning new tricks. Although she is not showing it off in this picture, all of Mae Mae’s friends say she has the sweetest, most beautiful smile! Because this cutie is a bit shy, she would benefit from a home that has children that are at least eight years old and being the only dog in the home.
All Arizona Humane Society adoption locations are temporarily closed, but the organization’s Virtual Adoption Matchmaking Program by appointment is available to place pets, including Mae Mae, with their families.
Mae Mae’s animal number is 657619. While she might have been adopted by the time you meet in your Virtual Matchmaking Adoption by Appointment session, there are dozens more wonderful pets at the Arizona Humane Society who also need loving homes.
